Wayne Powell

You could say Wayne had an eye for ad space from an early age. As a teenager, he delivered newspapers in his hometown of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Years later, after leaving college (Middle Tennessee State University), he ended up on the other side of the printing press as a supervisor in the advertising department of The Tennessean and Nashville Banner newspapers. When a customer of the newspaper needed design help on the side, Wayne was quick to take on his first client. Later, Wayne was a vice president at two local ad agencies before starting Powell Creative in 1991.

Wayne enjoys golf and travel. He lives in Nashville with his wife, Dr. Karen Keenan Powell, a dentist.

Little Known Fact: Played drums in a high school rock ‘n' roll band.
